CARE AND PROTECTION OF WOMEN
Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana
·         To save and empower girl child by generating awareness and improving the efficiency of welfare services meant for women.
·         Launched in January 2015
·         Implemented in 161 districts; improved child sex ratio in Haryana.
·         Preliminary reports for 100 districts indicate that for the time period between April-March 2014-15 & 2015-16, an increasing trend in Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) is visible in 58% of the BBBP districts;
·         Haryana has registered a remarkable improvement in the sex ratio at birth (SRB) with the ratio jumping to 938 in February 2017. The average SRB for the past one year from March 2016 to February 2017 has been recorded as 907.
·         Budget allocation for scheme increased in 2017-18 to 200 crore rupees.
·         Ministry of HRD has allocated Rs. 5 lakh per district, for instituting district level awards to be given to 5 schools in each district every year.


Sukanya Samriddhi Khata (WCD)

·            Launched by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 21st January 2015; under the Beti Bachao, BetiPadhao Campaign.
·            To meet the expense of the Girl child’s higher education and marriage.
·            Small affordable deposit earns one of the highest rates of interest.
·            More than 1 crore accounts opened: 11000 crore rupees deposited.

UJJWALA (Petroleum)

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana

·            Scheme for Providing Free LPG connections to Women from BPL Households launched by PM in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh on 1.5.2016
·            To ensure universal cooking gas coverage, empower and protect women’s health, reduce cooking time
·            To create jobs for rural youth in supply chain.
·            2,07 crore LPG connection provided to BPL Households (As on 5th April) 
·            Scheme spread all over the country, now in 694 districts
·            Target is to provide five core LPG connections in three years during 2016-19).
·            Rs.8000 crores earmarked
·            24X7 Helpline for LPG Consumers:  Dial 1906  

MAHILA SHAKTI KENDRAS
·         To remodel the Anganwadi centres as centres for women empowerment in the villages
·         To be set up  in 14 lakh Anganwadi Kendras at the cost of Rs.500 crores 

PRADAHAN MANTRI AWAS YOJANA-GRAMIN

·         Registry of the houses to be made in the name of women    

SIX MONTHS MATERNITY LEAVE
·         To enable working women to get at least six months of paid leave so that they can provide proper care to the child
·         26 Weeks Maternity Leave for working women by amendment to Maternity Benefit Act which came into effect from 28.3.2017  

Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan-PMSMA

·          It aims to provide assured, comprehensive and quality antenatal care, free of cost, universally to all pregnant women on the 9th of every month. PMSMA guarantees a minimum package of antenatal care services to women in their 2nd / 3rd trimesters of pregnancy at designated government health facilities.
·         It follows a systematic approach for engagement with private sector which includes motivating private practitioners to volunteer for the campaign; developing strategies for generating awareness and appealing to the private sector to participate in the Abhiyan at government health facilities.
·        It has been rolled out in all States/ UTs.
·        More than 40 lakh antenatal checkups have been conducted at PMSMA sites for comprehensive services under the programme.
·        PMSMA is conducted at over 11000 health facilities across all State/UTs.
·        Over 3750 volunteers are registered on PMSMA portal across all State/UTs.
·        Over 1400 volunteers have provided services under PMSMA.
·        More than 2.70 lakh high risk pregnancies have been identified under PMSMA.

MUDRA

·         70% beneficiaries of MUDRA are women.


STAND UP INDIA (Finance, WCD)
·         To promote entrepreneurship among SC/ST and Women launched by PM on 5th April, 2016
·         To benefit at least 2.5 lakh entrepreneurs.
·         Loans of more than 15,000 entrepreneurs approved out of which more than 80% are women.
·         Rs. 500 crores have been allotted in 2016-17
·         18,565 women and 4,756 SC/STs have so far benefited from Stand Up India scheme.
·         Capital subsidy under new scheme ATUFS (Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme) in Textile Sector will create over 30 lakh jobs, especially for women.

One Stop Centre - SAKHI
·       Launched in March, 2015. To provide medical, police, legal and psycho-social counselling to women affected by violence at a single place
·       121 centres already established and functional by end of March, 2017. One centre per district will be established by the end of 2018-19
PANIC BUTTONS on Mobile Phones
       To provide an effective mechanism for women to seek help in distress situation
MOBILE APP ‘HIMMAT’(MHA)
·         Mobile App ‘Himmat’ launched in January 2015 by Delhi Police (MHA &Deity) to instill confidence in women, to help women in distress and to ensure their safety in Delhi.  This application helps women to raise SOS alert in case of any emergency and the same gets reported along with victim/ caller location in real time at Police Control Room and the nearest PCR Van and local police can be rushed to the spot.
Universalisation of Women Helpline (181)
·         To provide universal helpline for women who need assistance of any
·         It has been decided to provided Universal Helpline to all states
·         Funds sanctioned to 33 states over last two years
·         19 states have already set up the facility

WIDOW SHELTER HOME
·         To enable widows who do not have family support to lead a life of dignity.
·         Largest ever Government funded home for 1000 widows at Vrindavan to be completed by the end of 2017.

·         Induction of women in all the fighter streams of our Armed Forces: First 3 women fighter pilots commissioned into the Indian Air Force last year
·         33 % Reservation for women in direct recruitment in Non-Gazetted posts in police forces. (MHA)
·         Two more Mahila Battalions to be raised by CRPF. (MHA)
·         E - MahilaHaat - Online portal for women to help marketing of the products. 26,000 SHGs/Self Help Groups registered, benefit to 3.5 lakh women artisans. (WCD)

·         Adoption reforms: New Guidelines, Interactive portal for an automated adoption process- CARINGS launched (WCD)

MSP & PROCUREMENT

  • Big hike in Minimum Support Price or MSP of Kharif pulses for 2016-17. MSP of Arhar increased from Rs. 4,625/- to Rs. 5,050/-per quintal. MSP of Urad increased from Rs. 4,625/- to Rs. 5,000/- per quintal. MSP of Moong increased from Rs 4,850/- to Rs. 5,250/- per quintal
  • Substantial increase in MSP of Rabi Pulses. MSP of Gram increased from Rs. 3500/- to Rs. 4000/- per quintal. MSP of lentil (Masoor) increased from Rs. 3400/- to Rs. 3950/- per quintal
  • Extent of buffer stock of Pulses increased from 1.5 lakh tonnes to 20 lakh tonnes.
  • About 19.90  lakh metric tonne of pulses procured (As on 27.4.2017)
  • Procurement of wheat during Rabi season has touched 229.61lakh tonne as on 17th April, 2017 compared to 208 lakhsmetric tonnes in May 2016 and 189 lakhs metric tonnes in May 2015.


 FERTILIZERS (D/O FERTILIZERS)

Neem Coated Urea  

  • Government makes Neem coating of Urea mandatory.
  • 100 % of Neem Coating of Indigenous Urea and Imported Urea achieved w.e.f. 1st September, 2015 and 1st December, 2015 respectively
  • Diversion of highly subsidized urea towards non-agricultural purposes reduced to negligible. Assured availability of Urea.
  • Increased Nitrogen Use Efficiency (NUE) by 5 to 10%
  • Increase of crop yield is as under:
·         An increase in yield of paddy to an extent of 5.79 per cent
·         An increase in yield of sugarcane to extent of 17.5 per cent
·         An increase in yield of maize to the extent of 7.14 per cent
·         An increase in yield of Soya bean to the extent of 7.4 per cent

Record Production of Urea

  • Highest ever production of 245 LMT of indigenous Urea during 2015-16, maintained in 2016-17.
  • Highest ever additional production of 20 LMT of Urea during 2015-16 without adding additional capacity and at no extra cost.
  • Special Banking Arrangement of Rs. 10,000 crores approved in Budget 2017-18 to clear fertilizer subsidy dues

New Urea policy 2015

  • Effective from 1st June, 2015 to 31st March, 2019.
  • Production of extra 20 Lakh/MT Urea per year and Savings of about Rs.5000 crores to the government
  • promoting energy efficiency in Urea production, maximizing indigenous Urea production and rationalizing the subsidy.
  • Helping domestic urea sector to become globally competitive
  • Availability of abundant Urea; no queues.
  • Import substitution and saving of foreign exchange reserves

Revival of defunct Fertilizer Units

  • Rs. 50,000 crores to be invested to revive Defunct Fertilizer Units in Gorakhpur, Sindri, Talcher, Ramagundam and Barauni and build the supporting PM ‘URJA GANGA’ (Jagdishpur-Haldia & Bokaro-Dhamra Natural Gas Pipeline) and the 50 LMT Dhamra LNG terminal to ensure gas supply to the revived plants.

  • E - Trading platforms to integrate 585 regulated markets to fetch the best prices for farmers.
  • Rs 75 lakhs allotted for every mandi
  • 417 Mandis across 13 states are live on e-NAM.
  • More than 42.91 lakh farmers and 89,312 traders are registered on this platform.
·    Agriculture produce worth Rs. 16916.81 crores have been transacted on e-NAM platform (As on 24.04.2017)
SOIL HEALTH CARD (Agriculture)

  • Scheme launched to reduce fertilizers usage and expenses.
  • Soil Health Cards to be issued to all farmers by 2018
  • 6.93 crore soil Health Cards distributed.
  • 2.80 crore soil samples collected till 25.4.2017.
  • Under Soil Health Management Scheme, Rs. 840.52 crores released to the States during 2014-17 against Rs.27.76 crores during 2011-14
  • Under Soil Health Cards Scheme, Rs.253.82 crores released to the states during 2014-17

PRADHAN MANTRI KRISHI SINCHAI YOJANA – PMKSY (Agriculture, RD, Water Resources & GR)

  • Har Khet ko Paani: Cabinet approves plan to ensure irrigation for every agricultural land on 1 July 2015.
  • More crop per drop: PMKSY to cover 28.5 Lakh hectare area under irrigation
  • Rs. 50,000 crores to be invested in five years to achieve ‘Water to Every Field / Har Khet Ko Paani’
  • Budget of Rs. 5189 crores for Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojna increased to Rs.7377 crore
  • Long Term Irrigation Fund Augmented by 100% to Rs 40,000 Crore (Budget2017-18)
  • Dedicated Micro Irrigation fund with a sum of Rs. 5000 crores to be set up for the achievement of the goal of “per drop – more crop”.

·         Total Sown Area of Kharif and Rabi crops increased substantially

PRADHAN MANTRI FASAL BIMA YOJANA (Agriculture)

·         To provide insurance at lowest premium rate to farmers with added benefits.
·         Launched on 13th January 2016.
·         Biggest financial support till date by the Central Government in crop insurance.
·         Plan to increase crop insurance coverage from 20% to 50% in the next 2-3 years
·         Implemented by 23 States during Kharif 2016; 401.54 lakh farmers covered and 392.82 lakh hectares insured over the sum insured of Rs.   1, 35, 00,572.17 lakh .
·         During Rabi 2016-17, as of now, 390.79 lakh farmers covered and more than 379 lakh hectares insured over the sum insured of Rs. 1,29,58,383.40 lakh.

RELIEF TO FARMERS IN DISTRESS

  • Relief to farmers in distress to be given in case of 33% and more damage to the crop; earlier it was for 50% and more damage.
  • Scale of Assistance towards Input Subsidy for Crop increased by 51% for rainfed areas,50% for irrigated areas and 50% for perennial areas.
  • Amount of relief under various heads increased by 1.5 times.
  • For food grains damaged due to excessive rainfall, full minimum support price to be paid
  • Families of the deceased persons to be given an assistance of Rs.4 lakhs, up from Rs.2.5 lakhs
  • Provision to SDRF has seen a jump of 82% for the 5-year period 2015-20, as compared to the 5-year period between 2010-15. It went up to Rs. 61,220 crores from Rs. 33,580.93 crore

DIRECT SUBSIDY TO SUGARCANE FARMERS

  • Direct subsidy to sugarcane farmers- Amount released directly to farmers’ Account.
  • Outstanding amount due to farmers brought down.

PARAMPARAGAT KRISHI VIKAS YOJANA    

  • Promoting organic farming; Scheme launched in 2015-16 with an allocation of Rs. 300 Crore and Rs. 297 crores in 2016-17
  • 10,000 clusters covering 2 lakhs hectare area under Organic Farming being covered during 2015-18;
  • 7186 clusters developed by state governments till now
  • Organic value chain for North Eastern States:Rs. 400 crores allocated for 2015-18; Rs. 156.79 crores released during 2015-17. 


BLUE REVOLUTION

·         A revolution” in the fisheries sector; Restructured the scheme by merging all the ongoing schemes under an umbrella of Blue Revolution
  • Integration of all fisheries projects, Blue Revolution Scheme gets approval
  • ‘Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries’ with an outlay of Rs. 3000 crore for 5 years
  • Average  48.35 lakh fishermen insured annually
  • Budget provision increased by 62.35% amounting to Rs. 401 crores in 2017-18 from Rs. 247 crores in 2016-17
  • Fish production increased from 186.12 lakh tonnes during 2012-14 to 209.59 tonnes during 2014-16
  • Annual insurance premium of fishermen reduced from Rs. 29 to Rs. 20.34 as a result of which majority of the fishermen have got insurance done
  •  Insurance cover increased to Rs. 2 lakhs from Rs. 1 lakh for accidental death and permanent disability
  
ANIMAL REARING AND DAIRY

·           Budgetary provision for White Revolution increased by 43.8% to Rs. 1634 crores in 2017-18 from Rs.1136 crorein 2016-17
·           During the 3 financial years of 2011-14 the annual average milk production was 146.3 million tonnes which enhanced as 163.7 million tonnes in 3 financial years of 2014-17 which shows almost 12% enhancement. Similarly in 3 financial year of 2011-14 annual per capita milk productivity was 298 gram which enhanced as 336 gram per day in 2014-17 which shows an enhancement of almost 12.7%.


RASHTRIYA GOKUL MISSION

·         New initiative under National Program for Bovine Breeding and Dairy Development to conserve and develop indigenous bovine breeds; launched in December 2014 with an allocation of Rs 500 crores
·         Rs. 80 crores allotted during 2017-18
·         14 Gokul Grams are being established and 41 Bull Mother Farms modernized
·         3629 Bulls have been inducted for natural service.

24X7 KISAN CHANNEL


  • A 24X7 dedicated Kisan TV Channel for farmers.
